Original watercolour of struggling Manitoba Maples on Toronto Island, Toronto, Ontario - by Canadian artist Celia Muncaster. These fast growing trees were planted widely throughout North America in the late 1940's and early 1950's replacing Elms devastated by Dutch Elm disease. Those Maples are now dying off. Toronto is replanting with hardier indigenous trees. Painting is on 300 pound Arches watercolour paper - ready to frame.
